Mosharraf moves on
Happy trails to Mohammad (Mosharraf) Hossain, who has completed his time with us as a postdoc. Mosharraf is moving on to the Wenthur group at the University of Wisconsin.
Viraj and Isuru graduate
Happy trails to Viraj and Isuru, who have both successfully defended their Ph.D. dissertations! Viraj is heading to Northwestern, where he will be a postdoc with Julia Kalow, and Isuru is heading to Scripps Florida, where he will be a postdoc with Thomas Kodadek.
Grace Olive joins group
Welcome to Grace Olive, who has joined the group for the summer as an NSF REU student. Grace comes to us from Earlham College.
New paper in Chem. Sci.
We have a new paper out in Chem. Sci.! Viraj shows that by modulating the strength of the aromatic stacking interactions governing folding, we can control the size of the macrocycle produced on self-assembly.
Group member awards
Congratulations to undergraduates Will Carson, who was awarded an NSF GRF, and Georgia Mantel, who was named a Beckman Scholar!
Roshan Lama and Chamoni Rashmika join group
Welcome to Roshan Lama and Chamoni, who have joined the group as new graduate students! Chamoni is co-supervised with Dr. Dominik Konkolewicz.
New paper in Angew. Chem.
A new paper is out inĀ Angew. Chem.! Lasith and Mosharraf review the transient covalent bond as a tool for designing nonequilibrium systems, including molecular machines and dissipative assemblies.
Lasith graduates
A little late to this, but happy trails to Lasith, who successfully defended his dissertation in August! He is headed off to the University of Nevada Reno for a postdoc with Ying Yang.
New paper in Org. Lett.
We have a new paper out in Org. Lett.! Isuru, Frank, Georgia, and Lasith show that diphenic acid derivatives undergo transient geometry changes on treatment with carbodiimide fuels.
